The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Endur looking to expand their knowledge and work with the market leader in LNG Trading, with one of the most diversified portfolios.

Where you fit in

You will work as part of a global team in the Information & Digital Technology (IDT) organization. You will join IT team in the UK (London) working as one team together with other Shell IT hubs globally (Bangalore, Houston, Netherlands). Your role will involve supporting the Shell LNG Marketing & Trading teams within the D&A team. This will include contributing to a significant transformational program aimed at delivering a Data platform for Shell Energy.

What’s the role

As a Senior Software Engineer - Endur, it is expected that you have a strong expertise in the processes, systems, and data from a technical standpoint, related to LNG, Gas & Power ETRM Portfolios. You will collaborate with Project Managers, BAs, testers, and Business Users (where applicable) to provide IT solutions and support to meet the business needs.

Your engagement will evolve based on the projects you're involved in. Generally, you'll find yourself undertaking the following tasks:

  • Provide technical support for Endur and its associated interfaces within the landscape.

  • As an Endur Developer, you will contribute to projects and/or ongoing tasks. This includes Requirement Analysis, Solution Design & Implementation, Unit Testing, collaborating with BAs and relevant stakeholders for UAT approval, and coordinating Production deployment & Post-Production deployment support.

  • Drive the development of new enhancements and projects, while also facilitating change management communication to the user community regarding upcoming IT solution changes.

  • Collaborate with a diverse array of business and IT stakeholders.

  • Advocate for the streamlining of global enterprise business processes and information standardization, in addition to upholding all IT procedures and policies

  • Develop code in accordance with the coding standards established by Shell.

  • Engage in project activities as they receive funding.

  • Act as a Technical Expert in Openlink Endur solutions.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to software development principles.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing work environment.

  • Showcase excellent engagement skills, including regular collaboration with senior leaders.

  • Possess strong team-working abilities, particularly in virtual environments, with a willingness to travel periodically.

  • Effectively engage with a virtual team of leaders located in different regions.

  • Adapt to organizational and environmental changes that may impact projects.

  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to align efforts with high-level business objectives while seeking guidance when necessary.

What we need from you


We're excited to connect with candidates who possess the following qualifications and are ready to take on the challenge:

  • Substantial experience in Endur projects, covering the complete trade lifecycle process.

  • A confident grasp of the energy/commodity trading industry, encompassing Oil, Gas, Power, LNG, or other Commodities.

  • Individuals with a strong expertise in a variety of areas, including Managers, Configurations, Deal setups, Connex framework, and Reporting.

  • Proficiency in effective communication and collaboration, whether working with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and various organizations individually or as part of a team.

  • Adeptness in Agile Development methodologies, with a firm commitment to its principles.

  • A deep understanding of business process enhancement, benefit and risk assessment, as well as software development and its lifecycle.

  • The ability to mentor junior team members, contributing to the establishment of a high-performance center dedicated to delivering top-quality results and meeting deadlines with confidence.
