Job Title: Senior Plant Inspector


The Senior Plant Inspector is an posting in the Shell Chemie Moerdijk IVG inspection team. Contribute to the accomplishment of an effective and efficient inspection process by administration of relevant inspection management systems. Act as a supervisor for development, maintenance and upkeep of applicable inspection tools and data bases. 

Accountabilities:

  • Focus on safety and Integrity
  • Ensure progress on execution of inspection scope both turn around and non-turn around related.
  • Ensure delivery and compliance of all design and construction with Dutch Legislation (WBDA / PRD), Design Codes and Shell standards.
  • Steer for quality and lean end to end work process.
  • Train and develop next generation of (sr.) inspectors.
  • To establish continuous improvements of the technical services with respect to added value, aiming the sections position to be preferred supplier of these services.
  • Liaise with the EU-CBI and the NL-CBI (IVG toezichthouder).
  • Support mitigations and authorizes deviations from standards/ processes and delegates such authority where appropriate.
  • Accountable for AW routing in w-IMS.
  • Roll out standardization within the department.
  • Lead multi discipline problem solving teams and investigations.
  • Focus on QA-QC.
  • Assist in scoping process to get internal challenges by lean scoping implementation.
  • Responsible for executing middle and large turnarounds
  • Accountable for yearly scoping processes including TA
  • Support team lead in organization decisions/development.

What we need from you?

  • Speaking of the Dutch language is a must.
  • Significant experience in business processes combined with substantial experience in the inspection of pressure systems in the hydrocarbon production/refining industries.
  • Extensive relevant experience in Data management systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical Engineering (or related supplemented with relevant  Engineering qualifications).
  • Certified SKK3 “Inspectie Deskundige level III” (IKT3) or equivalent according to legal requirements.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable national and internationals codes, rules, and standards (ASME, PED, WBDA, EN, RtoD, API, DEP’s).
  • Experienced with installation, maintenance, and repair of static equipment.
  • Team player with credibility in technical expertise, influencing skills, acting as a site expert.
  • Knowledge of principles and application of Risk Based Inspection and Non Intrusive Inspection
  • Has experience with all the different phases of the pressure equipment lifetime (newbuilt, source analysis, KVI and user phase).
